Frequently Asked Questions
-
Our Animal Ambassadors can carry beverages, party favors, individually wrapped snacks, programs, or similar items — whatever you'd like served in their double-sided Nantucket Styled baskets. We do not supply the beverages ourselves and do not sell alcohol, but our handlers are Basset-certified servers and can serve alcohol on your behalf.
-
Our Higlands wear a discreet "potty bag" that contains any mess out of sight and smell, so we leave no trace at your venue.
-
We always send a healthy, happy, well-rested steer to your event, but we can't guarantee which of our boys will attend. A variety of factors — health, temperament that day, and scheduling — determines who's the best fit. Either way, you're getting a Highland who's ready to make your day special.
-
Operational time is when our handler and Beverage-Steer begin serving guests. Once service begins, the clock runs continuously for the time contracted — there are no pauses (for example, during a ceremony).
-
Generally, yes. After enough events to know the pattern, we've found guests love the experience most within that first hour — the photos, the meet-and-greet, the novelty of it all. After that, our cows are ready for a rest, and your guests are ready to move on to the main event. One hour keeps the magic at its best. If you are interested in extending your event it will need to be contracted prior to the event and additional costs will be contracted.

We travel throughout Northwestern Illinois. If you're outside that range, reach out anyway — we're happy to discuss travel options for your event.

The Client may reschedule the event date one (1) time at no additional charge with at least thirty (30) days' written notice, subject to handler availability; the deposit transfers to the new date.
Cancellations with fewer than thirty (30) days' notice forfeit the deposit and remain liable for the remaining balance.
Divine Blessings reserves the right to substitute a comparable animal of equal or greater value, or to cancel and fully refund all payments beyond the deposit, in the event of illness, injury, or welfare concern affecting the scheduled animal(s).
In the event of extreme weather (temperatures below 20°F or above 90°F, lightning, or severe storm warning) at the scheduled time, Divine Blessings may require relocation to covered space, a shortened appearance, or rescheduling at no additional charge. This determination is made solely by the on-site handler.
